I am a (soon to be) freshman at Arlington High School. Math has always been my favorite subject in school and sharing that passion with others is something I love to do. I participate in a variety of math contests each year, including the AMC10 (American Math Contest 10th grade) and Purple Comet. I am also attending MIT Primes Step, a math research program, for the second year.
This summer I am offering a six-session trigonometry class. It will cover the basics of trigonometry and prepare students for future algebra 2/precalculus classes.
Lesson Options
From arithmetic to geometry to algebra, I can cover a wide variety of topics, as broad or narrow as needed. By incorporating fun aspects into lesson plans such as games modified to and practice the areas of math being taught, the material becomes interesting and engaging for younger students while retaining the education value of a traditional math class.
Homework is an important part of success in the educational system, and having someone to work through it with is always useful. Whether its understanding a difficult concept that wasn’t fully covered in class or a confusing application of a topic, I can assist your child with their homework from school or any other math class.
Tests Incorporate many aspects that aren’t always taught in school. This includes using topics you learn in word problems, memorization, and the most common one, being timed. This last aspect is something many students struggle with, and with the help of customized worksheets and practice tests I can improve your child’s abilities to do math fast.
